Beautiful! I haven't been there for a few years, looks like there have been some changes.

I see you had some great skiing, and it doesn't look like you encountered any bears.

Discussion:

Jasper offers quiet surroundings and scenery somewhat different from what we are accustomed to seeing west of Calgary.
About 4 cm of snow Monday night helped to freshen up the area. Parks wasted no time in grooming the valley ski trails as well as could be expected given the low snow pack the Rockies have experienced to date.
Started both days from the Whirlpool Ski Hub which surprisingly has a handy warming hut set up for skiers.
Tuesday - a pleasant ski to Moab Lake along the Whirlpool River, 15.5 km return
Wednesday - skied the closed portion of Hwy 93A to Leach Lake and the terminus at the Geraldine Fire Road, 16 km return.

Total distance: 31.50 Km

The welcoming Whirlpool Ski Hub warming hut.

Classic tracks and a fine skate lane along the Moab Lake road.

The red chairs at Moab Lake with a view westward up the valley towards a distant Athabasca Pass with Whirlpool Peak to the left.

Arriving at Leach Lake provides a great view of Mt. Edith Cavell

A sunny day looking towards Mt. Geraldine and Whirlpool Peak.
