Aqua Toque - Thanks for the jacket colour explanation. We're going to have to get one of those pink jackets for Dad! We enjoyed your video and fully appreciate your painstaking efforts to present the best possible photos and videos. We often spend days working on the text of our reports to present a great story.

By the way, some friends of ours happened to be in the area yesterday and snapped a photo of you and MaSid at the top of the knoll!

Hi Little Bs. Thanks for the mustard fun facts! In my estimation I would say everything on there is 100% accurate.

In regard to the jacket, yes, it is the same one but I believe I can explain your altered perception in this instance.

You see, our friend MaSid adheres to a strict policy of providing timely and valuable information to the greater SkierRoger viewership. So in his haste he posts acompanying photos directly off his camera.

Myself on the other hand, prefer to target a select and elite subset of said viewership (such as yourselves) and will spend hours or days tweaking images in photoshop to get them just right!

I have made corrections to the photo in question and include them below. One is closer to your favourite shade of mustard and the other is, well, you'll see....

One more picture: Fox lake below. Full view of West Elk meadows. The left fork being right above fox lake. Right fork heads down Elkan Ck. We could actually see Snowfa HQ, the Fork n’ Meadow lunch log, the Hydroline, lower blueberry meadows as well as the new and old cut blocks. No noticeable condiment coloured jackets, moving objects or tracks seen at the snowfa, the West Elk meadow environs or the cut blocks from the high vantage point. Doesn’t mean it’s true. Even saw a returning bald eagle floating by heading north.

Good overview of the south side of the border.

We're jealous, having been up to Frozen Lake last winter but it wasn't safe for us to go higher because we were on our own.

Aqua Toque - Your jacket looks bright yellow; where's your mustard one? Your previous posts had a darker colour jacket, more like Dijon which is our favourite!

Consult the attached image for some food for thought.

Howdy folks, aqua toque here. I've been reviewing the MustardCam footage from today's outing and will be shipping it off to the Editing Dept shortly. Watch the comments section of this thread in the coming days for a link to the finished production.

Discussion:

A pleasant -7 and 3-4” of fresh powder in the parking lot at 9, with clear skies and first tracks to boot! Very promising. Was out on the AT gear today, adventuring with Aqua Toque again, heading for some North aspect terrain on Mount Fox. 6” of fresh on the blueberry junction picnic table. Even more promising. Once off trail, snow consistency was good and supportive (even better!). Boot top trail breaking up to the north knoll above frozen lake. And the sky stayed mostly sunny and calm up top for an extended stop with cold snow on descent. Excellent views up on the knoll. Good turns were had by all. The south side of the big hill above the parking lot is starting to show its nasty side.

Not a bad lunch spot, straddling the provincial border, overlooking Frozen Lake, and then it got sunnier…..

Aqua Toque sporting classic colours and stoked for the descent.
