Conditions don't come any better than today's. I'll even put the tree bombs on the positive side of the ledger. They created rainbow-coloured clouds of mist which were beautiful to observe and refreshing to ski through.
The texture of the snow provided perfect grip without any grabbing or sticking. I was able to stride all the way up the big hill with nary a herringbone. Downhills were fast but completely safe and manageable.
The snow stayed cold for my trip but as we've read on other reports, sun-exposed areas may be icy in the morning. When I left around 3 pm, the temperature had risen to -1.
To make a perfect day even better, this evening I enjoyed dining on Calgary's best pizza with master snowfa builder MaSid.
