Nothing said in the article about him being charged with filing a false report. That was a lot of resources expended. Lots of conservation officers on scene, a hired cougar tracker with dogs, plus DNA testing. A lot of coin for a little bit of fame.

Interesting. I was suspicious when pictures of the wounds looked more like scuff marks than scratches. Regardless, I will still keep the CDS handy, just like not holding up an umbrella in a lightning storm. Thanks for the report to keep us informed. But always conscious of seeing lots of evidence of their presence while out solo off trail.
