Good luck! Start in the dark. Bring along a good scraper and some kind of in field glide application. My metal edges attracted a lot of ice off track and in the fresher skier set in the afternoon.

Both were skier set track yesterday. More travel on elk pass trail, but quite mashed up, especially if the walkers from the hut went down the grooming. Hydroline may be a cleaner track.

Any idea what condition Hydroline is in? Planning some extensive touring S of Elk Pass tomorrow, and wondering whether the fastest way up would be via Hydroline or the Elk Pass Trail. Thanks!

Discussion:

Had a good day out. Parked at Elkwood -2c at 11:30. Started on freshly groomed and track set Wheeler. Went up Moraine and Fox which were in excellent shape. Skier track set up Elk Pass and Tyrwhitt with about 15-20cm of snow from Friday. Had some clumping on my Twin Skins. Used my skin glide treatment which helped that problem. Worked on my friends fish scales. Went down Whiskey Jack which was skier track set. The top of the last big hill on Whiskey Jack was getting a bit icy. Back to the track setting on Wheeler and Amos and back to the car. Wheeler and Amos had some “catch and release “. Very few people out.

Total distance: 25.00 Km
