Inspired by Ulrikeski’s report of March 30, 2024 we decided to do the Dolomite Circuit today. It was a beautiful sunny spring day, and we had the whole circuit to ourselves. There was excellent powder on the ski down to Katherine Lake. We thought we would try doing the trip this time with just one car i.e. without a car shuttle from Mosquito Creek to Helen Creek. To minimize the distance we would need to ski along the highway to get back to Helen Creek, we stayed as high as we could for as long as we could as we wrapped around the south end of Dolomite Peak. Skiing through the trees was not too onerous, and we ended up coming out to the highway about two kilometres from the Helen Creek trailhead, which took us about half an hour to ski. Thanks Ulli!
Total distance 17.7 km, Total elevation gain 907 m, Total time 6.5 hours
Total distance: 17.70 Km

Looking back at the ridge above Katherine Lake from near the big rocks.
Looking south from East Dolomite Col, with Mounts Hector, Andromache, and Noseeum in the background.
Skiing back to the Helen Creek trailhead along the Icefields Parkway.
