Although it was breezy most of the trip and the ice crystals from the treetops blasted us many times, we had a beautiful ski. -6C on old snow and variable ice crystals.
Mixed needles in lower Elk Pass trail give way to cleaner track for the rest of the trip to Elk Pass. The moose tracks are minimal and very courteous - along the side of the track much of the way.
Hydroline good fresh track set with some blown-in snow.
Patterson as pictured - fresh grooming and track set with a dusting of ice crystals.
Fox Creek really needs more snow to cover the scattered needles and make machine track setting possible. (Currently skier set scrambly track.)
We met over 36 skiers and there were about 20 cars in the Elk Pass Parking on our return.
Total distance: 14.00 Km
Patterson fresh grooming with wind added crystalline snow.
