As the photo of the old family car seems of interest, allow me to share some memories.
I remember Dad making a big celebration when the odometer clicked over 99,999 miles to just zeros... a new beginning!
This photo was taken in 1963 before my parents shipped it 'across the pond' to follow our move back to Canada
But let's get back to the topic of ski trips!

Hi Chuck, that's a remarkable photo of your family at the Great Divide. Your family car looks like a 1959(or thereabouts) Mercedes-Benz, a rare vehicle to see in Canada in the early sixties. The other car looks like a 1962 Pontiac.

Awesome report and pictures Chuck!
GREAT DIVIDE - Not trackset yet, but well packed, and away from the crowds

Discussion:
Another good choice in the Lake Louise area.
I can understand that Parks is slow to trackset this area due to heaving cracks in the underlying pavement, but I think it is adequately covered and packed now. Contrary to the Parks Trail Report, there are absolutely no sections of pavement showing through the snow.
I used my track skis today with green kick wax, and I got good glide as the day warmed up, especially on the return with a west wind at my back.
The highway is in excellent driving condition, so enjoy!
The skier set tracks on a wide solid pack are excellent
Mary enjoys showing off this area to family and friends
Some members of this happy family remember driving under this arch...
I remember being driven under this arch, by my father!
